The final game of Madden 23 before 24 arrives. We sign off with a high scoring shootout in a gross matchup between the Broncos and Cardinals. Despite the loss, Chris managed a PB in both TDs and passing yards (although the 4 INTs didn't help). Ben has his lowest game for passing yards, but still matches his PB for TDs... somehow.
Two mobile QBs (Mariota and Fields) make a game between a pair of bad teams interesting with some decent scores, plus a PB for Chris in rushing yards for Madden 23.
Following a bad run of results, Chris gets in the win column by absolutely decimating the Giants with 3 passing TDs and 3 picks (2 returned to the house), while we're all left wondering once again how Danny Pennies ever got that contract in the first place.
The Bucs get out to a nice half time lead in a close game, but a second half doink on a long FG changes everything. Brady is given a chance to take it to OT with the last play of the game from the 1, but his devil magic has run out by this point.
What do you do when Dak is 5 picks deep? Bring on Cooper Rush and throw 2 more. No pick-6's... somehow. Joey B dealing in all white.
Kenny Pickett starts off his day with back-to-back spine-snapping sacks resulting in 3rd and 31. He then throws a dime to the opposition for the first of 5 picks shared with Mitchy B. On the flipside, Najee goes off for a long TD run.
Two good QBs play average. Two average defences play good. Although he throws a pair of picks, T Law comes up with a peachy scramble TD in the 4th. Featuring a special 54 yard appearance from Dicker the Kicker.
Needing a TD to come back in to the game, Sammy Darnold (remember when he was a starter?) is given less than 2 mins to make it happen. And promptly sharts the bed and throws a pick 6. The first highlights we recorded after making the dumb decision to record highlights.
(Somehow) Ryan Tannehill drives down the field in 3 plays with no timeouts to clinch a sphincter-wobbling comeback.
Our first ever session on the PS5 included this beauty.
